25. Houston Arboretum and Nature Center

Happy Earth Day Houston! Celebrate God's green Earth by visiting the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, self proclaimed as, "the greenest place in town!" This 155-acre non-profit nature sanctuary is beautiful and full of life. Spend a couple of hours exploring the nature center and experience the Wildlife Garden, Hummingbird & Butterfly Island, Carol Tatkon Sensory Garden, and the many paths and all the nature center has to offer.

Tonight at 7:00pm, check out A Light in the Forest, An Earth Day Celebration at the Arboretum
Writers in the Schools (WITS) and the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center partner to present nature writing by Houston students in celebration of Earth Day. The reading is called A Light in the Forest, and it showcases the best work that was created during the year through the WITS Environmental Writing Project. Public is invited. Free event.

In addition, the Arboretum hosts "Yoga on the Way Home" from 5:45-6:45. Experience yoga in the outdoors rather than boiling in traffic and frustration on the way home from work. $10-$15/per session.
