About this Blog

Being the culture vulture that I am while trying to date a traditional homebody for nearly 5 years, I've often found myself frustrated with my fiancés utter lack of creativity when it comes to taking me out on dates. At first I chalked it up to mild differences and skeptically embraced the phrase, "opposites attract," but later conceded the fact that we're people, not magnets. Eventually I started taking it rather personally, thinking perhaps he was unwilling rather than incapable, of coming up with something unique and interesting to do that didn't involve a movie theater where the only things I found unique were the new popcorn seasonings and the rising ticket prices. Alas, I realize he's not incapable nor unwilling; he just doesn't know where to look for ideas. To assuage the situation, I've decided to take matters into my own hands. Each day I will post unique things to do in the Houston area with high hopes that my fiancé will one day read this, get ideas, come to his senses and plan unique dates all on his own. I call it, "The Cure for the Common Date."

“You'll find boredom where there is the absence of a good idea."

Since I strongly believe that the "dating" phase should never end, this blog applies to anyone from singles to marrieds and everything in between.
