3. Art Bike 2010 - Discovery Green

If you haven't been to Discovery Green yet, you're missing out. LEED Gold Certified, the 12-acre park in downtown Houston offers something for everyone. With a one-acre lake, a children's playground, interactive water features, amphitheater, dog runs, public art, HPL Express, ample green space and yummy restaurants, there's no shortage of things to do. The park plays host to many events including free fitness classes, art exhibits, "Screen on the Green", lunchtime concerts, workshops and farmers markets.

From March 25-April 22, Art Bike 2010, benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Society, presents "26 artistically transformed bikes by local artists. In conjunction with National MS Awareness Week and the 26th Anniversary of the BP MS 150, ART BIKE 2010 is an installation of art with a cause."

Pack a picnic basket to be cute or enjoy one of the nearby restaurants - The Grove or the Lake House - and take a stroll in the park. If you have one, bring your canine along and let dogs be dogs. Click on the Events Calendar to find an event that interests you.

Visit Discovery Green to find out more about the park.
